Rob Garrett as Neil Diamond in Las Vegas

The legendary Rob Garrett’s “King of Diamonds” Las Vegas tribute show keeps going strong in the “Alexis Park Modern Showrooms” at ALEXIS PARK HOTEL.

The legendary Neil Diamond is one of the greatest and most admired singer/songwriters in rock and pop music history.

In addition to being one of the biggest selling and concert drawing artists ever, he’s also created and performed the soundtrack of our lives — including some of the most recognized songs on the planet.

In early 2018, shortly before his 77th birthday, Neil Diamond announced his retirement from performing after being diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease.

However, Diamond’s on-stage legacy continues to be preserved for audiences across the globe through longtime Las Vegas performer Rob Garrett, often called “the best of the best”.

Ask Alexa “who is the top Neil Diamond tribute artist,” and you’ll always hear Rob Garrett.

Like his idol, Rob Garrett was a Brooklyn, New York native.

In the spring of 1974, his parents moved the family from New York City to the Las Vegas Valley, where, at age 16, he witnessed his first Neil Diamond concert when Diamond debuted in Las Vegas to record crowds at the Aladdin Theater for the Performing Arts (now “PH Live”) in July 1976.

Garrett went on to see him 16 more times across the country—right up until Diamond’s last American show at the Los Angeles Forum on August 12, 2017.

In 1980, Garrett created his own band, “Rock n Roll Heaven,” and enjoyed a successful 15-year run in Las Vegas and across the nation before deciding to move from lead singer of a cover band to a tribute artist dedicated to one of his musical idols.

In 1995, Garrett was personally hired by the legendary Paul Revere to portray Neil Diamond in the world-famous “Legends in Concert” review.

What was meant to be a limited run turned into a three-year residency.

By August 1998, Garrett was back in Vegas and continued to perform with “Legends” for another two years before deciding to go independent.

He began a busy tour circuit, building a strong worldwide fan community along the way—earning the title “King of Diamonds Las Vegas.”

He continues to perform to sold-out venues nationwide, often in venues reserved for national acts.

Garrett has also earned several honors, including “Male Tribute Artist of the Year.”

“Since he (Diamond) announced his retirement, I’ve felt a strong sense of responsibility to keep his legacy alive for future generations. It’s something I never get tired of doing,” he said.

On May 19, Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman officially proclaimed the date “Rob Garrett Day,” commemorating Rob’s 50 years as a Las Vegas resident and 44 years as a professional Vegas performer.

Now in 2025, Garrett celebrates 45 years on stage in Las Vegas, with the last 30 years devoted solely to paying tribute to the now-retired Neil Diamond.

It has been said that no other tribute artist is so closely identified with the original performer as Garrett, who has played in more Vegas rooms than any peer.

Since the June closing of “A Beautiful Noise” (the Broadway jukebox musical based on Diamond’s life story), Rob Garrett’s “King of Diamonds” show has become the nation’s sole ongoing Neil Diamond tribute show.

The Alexis Park Resort is located at 375 E. Harmon Ave., near the Las Vegas corporate event Neil Diamond tribute Las Vegas group booking Strip.
